Odoo 17 vs 19: upgrade now, or wait?

Odoo ships a major version every year, and supports roughly the three most recent. That policy does the deciding for most companies: if you are on 16 or earlier you are out of support, and if you are on 17 the clock is ticking. The real question is not whether to upgrade — it is when, and to which version.
